The Real Questions:

Frequently asked questions, but by no means an exhaustive list.

Please reach out with any other questions you may have.

Who Do You Work With?

I work with anyone and everyone! My demographic is mainly queer members of the LGBTQIA+ community.  As a queer genderfluid person, I know that support is not promised on our walks through life. I have been lucky enough to have a supportive family and community that has been present throughout my own journey: and so, I strive to pass this gift on. It is a priority and an honor to extend that support to others and walk with them during milestone moments in their lives.

If you are looking for a list of vetted, queer and queer-friendly vendors please reach out. I am more than happy to share my contacts and connections in the community to help make your big day smoother and stress-free.

What if I'm Not Photogenic?

I don’t believe that people are unphotogenic! The stilted, highly posed photos you received on your school picture day are not good representations of what you look like alive. That's okay! My style of photography is meant to allow you to focus on being live in the moment.  My job is to document the occasion on your terms. My work revolves around mutual respect and that includes respect and understanding for my clients being nervous, feeling awkward, or needing breaks. In every moment I capture, I invite my clients to forget about the camera and surrender to the real moment. I am here to capture the raw emotion that we feel behind monumental moments in our lives.

I’m here to capture the event or moment you have constructed. I invite you to practice living in the moment with me.

What Kind of Events

Do You Photograph?

While I do enjoy photographing weddings, a broad expanse of my photography experience is in live music, events, and portrait photography. I am more than happy to document graduations, birthday parties, pet birthday parties, engagements, elopements and just about any event you can think of. You can find my full portfolio here.

If you’re looking to do something new and interesting, please reach out!

What's Your Set-Up?

I mainly work with a Sony a7iii mirrorless kit. My main lens is a 28-80mm 2.8 Sigma lens.

Do you travel?

Yes, I love to! For anything over 40 miles from my current base of Richmond, Virginia, there will be a travel fee relative to the  distance and any mode of transport required.

What's the best way to get in touch?

Please fill out my inquiry form! I occasionally book by a rare psychic signal–but that's usually for friends, family, or students of the arcane arts.

How Long Do I Have to Wait to See My Photos?

The best part about having an event photographed is….well, getting the photos! My turnaround time can be variable depending on the duration and size of your shoot. For smaller shoots, my goal is for my client to have their gallery in their inbox in four weeks.

For weddings and larger scale events, I offer a sneak peek gallery two to three weeks after the event and a fully edited gallery 8-10 weeks later.

Circumstances may vary, however, any changes to the timeline of you receiving your gallery will be clearly communicated!

Haven't Heard Back From Me?

I do my best to respond to all inquiries within 48 hours. If you do not receive a response in that timeframe, please check your spam folder or you can email me directly at erinmurray.art@gmail.com

What's sliding scale?

A sliding scale is a way of creating affordable pricing for my clients that takes into account the fact that the reality we live in puts marginalized people at a disadvantage. I consider these. external factors when setting a quote. Times are hard and weddings are expensive. I'm happy to work with couples to find a fair quote within their budget. Please reach out with any questions, I’m more than happy to talk about your budget and the wedding industry in a straightforward and down-to-earth way.

How does pricing work?

Every event I shoot is personalized and tailored to you and your event  individually. For me to best assess which plan works best for you based on your needs, please reach out for a quote!

Please note: I do offer a sliding scale rate.
